About Unidex
Unidex is the Universal Knowledge Index: a living database of people, organisations and places, designed to be read equally well by people and by machines.
Continuous synchronisation
Records are seeded and refreshed through official Wikimedia interfaces — the Wikipedia REST and Action APIs and the Wikidata entity API. Nothing is scraped. Each record stores the upstream revision it was built from, so an unchanged source is never re-imported.
Community maintained
Every article carries a complete revision history. Editors with a verified email address can edit directly; contributions build reputation, and automated screening flags unusual edits for review rather than blocking them silently.
Machine readable
Facts live as typed properties and graph relationships rather than prose. Pages are server-rendered with schema.org JSON-LD and listed in a generated sitemap.
Licensing
Article text is available under CC BY-SA 4.0. Structured facts sourced from Wikidata are CC0. Unidex is not affiliated with the Wikimedia Foundation.
